Tapa cloth

Papua New guinea tapa is unique in every pattern,print, designs and or drawings on it. Im interested in Tapa from Kutubu in the southern highlands province. Their tapa is unique and are made as any other Tapa but its not printed. Some are printed with colour red of a fruit or some are yellow which they use tamaric plant and its only used for cover women especially from rain when the are working

in the garden and sometimes as part of their traditional costumes. Today men have also used tapa during fetivals as part of their traditional wear. Picture coutesy; Exxon Mobile PNG
